Tin Henry

Diversity is the spice of life. This cassette displays a wide variety of modern influences used to create the bands radio friendly sound. The first song Coma showcases vocalist Chris Cox at his strongest, sounding like a less abrasive Zack De La Rocha. Second tune "Go" is the most agressive rocker of the three, with hints of hardcore groove. The potent rythem section of bass player Tony Taylor and drummer Terry Murphy shine on the third track "Breath". Guitarist Brad Dunn leads the funk on this one, with the whole unit sounding like a cross between "Kings X" and the "Red Hot Chili Peppers".

Nothing is as it seems. On May 29, a band billing themselves as "The LA Guns" made a stop at the Galaxy club. This was certainly not the LA Guns that I remember from my hollywood youth. Although guitarist Tracii Guns is still in place, the other members of this new unit were new meaning no one in attendance had a clue. Luckily for those present, Tin Henry opened the show, which made it worth the trip.

Get ready DFW - Tin Henry is gonna grab you by the bootie with their great groovin melodies and not let go! Singer Chris Cox gives good song. I f he comes across half as charismatic live as he does on tape, then it should be illegal. Brad Dunns guitar playing runs the spectrum from funky jazz like riffs to heavy, moshable power playing. Tony Taylor on bass gives the band their solid foundation and adds a definate bluesy flavor to the music. Terry Murphy follows through with truely inspired drumming and a big sound that just cant be denied. Tin Henry plays music that just makes you want to move - mosh - headband, or whatever - just fu*#in' move! Im telling you DO NOT hesitate next time you getb the chance to see them.!
